the first time I saw rivkah was at the never sorry show that brando had put on at the former elizabeth taylor house in beverly hills. they were part of the band. it was a good time. I got to see dear friends like dearest dearest syd, saw some dude taking party photos of girls topless in the pool (don't know where those photos ended up), twin shadow with his point and shoot all crouched up tryna get angles of the set, and of course a nice views. no complaints beyond the lack of cell service and the broken toilet.

the first time I had met rivkah was in the studio. I met with brando at the elizabeth taylor house and carpooled with him to the place they were tracking vocals and guitar for a song that who the hell knows is even gonna come out (holding out hope).
it was rivkah, joey, and brando—and of course christian who ran the space.
I took some bts photos of the happenings when after a bit they all got hungry and brando asked me if I could pick up some grub from the pizza place about a mile or so away. me, the guy without a car. kinda silly, I still think about it because of how funny and inefficient it was. obviously I had to do the round trip, but then the waiting for the food to be ready, sheesh. shoulda just doordashed it.
despite that, I got to see everyone vibing, making shit. smiling and laughing while they sat on the couch eating. it was cute. I love these human experiences.

I wouldn't see rivkah again until my impulsive episode bought southwest airline tickets to nyc where I am typing this shit from. it was literally yesterday, 10/2/2025, that rivkah and I took these photos. being welcomed into their home, immediately met with the biggest collection of the gayest t-shirts I've ever seen. and not hilary duff psa gay—I mean shirts with literal gay messaging on them. super gay. I loved it.
people really make the most out of nyc, you're surrounded by millions of motherfuckers. the subways, goddamn, are convenient. 2am train? fucking easy, bitch. LA metro hasn't had that since lockdown.
rivkah has been dropping music as a solo artist—I was just listening to the most recent release of theirs, "big league chew". I have never had that gum. I'm more big on bubble yum. they've also been up to co-hosting buck wild—line dancing at desert five spot new york.
they've been here in nyc for maybe a year, maybe two. I didn't keep track. but to find your people out here, immersing yourself in the various communities this city has. I'm glad they have that. you need that. otherwise you're gonna be the guy I saw on the train crash out because people didn't care for his acapella covers of jason mraz songs.
grateful for rivkah, for letting me into their space and being an all around kind person who has such a warm smile you're lucky to see when she's not smizing.
and I'm grateful to new york and all its people who have already been so welcoming during this short trip of mine.
